Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join the MOMS Club?
We only have two requirements.
The first is that you live in the West section of Havertown (West and South of Darby Road, including all families who live within the boundaries of Manoa Elementary, Lynnewood Elementary, and parts of Coopertown Elementary), and the second is that ... you are a parent!
We have moms of college age kids, moms who are expecting their first child, and everyone in between. Many of us are stay at home moms or work part-time outside of the home; however we have quite a few members who work
outside of the home full-time as well.
How can I join?
E-mail Erin at [email protected], or click on the Contact tab at the top of the page and submit the form. Someone will be in touch within a few days to get your membership started!
What do I get when I am a member?
Lots! Here is just a brief list of membership priveledges:
Most importantly, you get the support of other parents who are in the trenches with you! People to share your struggles and successes with and talk about all of the ins and outs of parenting.
What types of activities do you do?
We have some "standing" activities each month such as a Coffee Get Together, Monthly Social, Craft Activity and a
Moms' Night Out. There are also sub-groups within our club who meet each month as well. These include the Book Club, Cooking Club, and a group for people whose partners travel or work late.
Each month we also publish a calendar where our members host events. Here is a list of some of our favorite past events:
What kinds of Service Projects do you participate in?
We tailor our service projects to the interests of our members and needs of our community. Here is a list of recent service projects -
We are a local chapter of MOMS International. As such, we are required to pay a small annual fee to receive the benefits that they offer (advertising, support, tax assistance, liability insurance, etc). The rest of the dues are used for
service projects, business expenses, and activities for our members. We realize that many parents make sacrifices to be able to stay home with their children so we aim to make sure that our $20 annual dues are not prohibitive for anyone to join. If you need financial assistance to be able to join the group please contact Erin at [email protected].
